Kim Yu-Na : The Worlds Best Figure Skater
Kim Yu-Na (Kim is the surname) is a 19 years old South Korean figure skater who is the reigning champion and gold medalist in her event at the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics. She was expected to win the gold and she indeed fulfilled the promise. Attached to her name is an impressive and an awesome credentials in figure skating. Starting a career at a very young age, her coach was amazed and predicted she is going to make it big in the skating world, and he is correct. Adored by her millions of fans not only in Korea but all over the world, she exudes grace, beauty and awesome performances specially in 2010 Vancouver Olympics. Kim's gold is South Korea's first in figure skating.
Figure skating is one event aside from snowboarding and hockey which I follow every Winter Olympic game. When these events are played in the TV, I always find time to watch them. Kim Yu-Na came to my attention four years ago when I read a magazine about Mao Azada, another figure skater from Japan and they were trying to pit the two girls together. In Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games, Mao won the silver and Joannie Rochette of Canada finished third.

I dated her! Ha! Just kidding :D She very beautiful, talented, and very graceful (so why the heck would she want to be with me???) What a wonderful tribute to one of the best figure skaters EVER. Thanks, Maita, for sharing such an awesome and informative hub about Kim Yn-Na. It seems that Koreans AND Filipinos are making their mark on the world as of late!

Hi Maita !
Wasn't she fabulous! Such precision such perfection. I admit when I watch the figure skating I often cringe in anticipation of a skater falling - you can almost feel the tiniest misstep. But not with her.
She's great! Thanks Maita!
Maita,
Great hub. I think the grace and power of figure skating is so inspiring. So much beauty and precision.
Maita,
This is lovely! What an effort and so much devotion these skaters have to reach such heights in their event. So beautiful!

Beautiful Maita! My favorite of the Olympics is the figure skating! Oh I can't get enough of it.
Maita-I can't believe I missed this performance! :( But along came that pretty dark horse with the video for me to enjoy!
What ever happened to the USFSA? Maybe they've gone on to greater things since I skated in, ummm, well-a long time ago! And I was not very good at it, at all. :)
Thanks, really.
She is a great athlete, and very beautiful. Nice article Maita. Have a great weekend.
She is a wonderful talent-- and so are you, Maita!!
Absolute beauty, strength, grace, athleticism, having so much LOVE for her sport/event! Amazing! She's the best! Thank you Maita
Thank you for the interesting education. The beauty of figure skating is often breathtaking. Kim Yu-Na is a joy to watch & now I know so much more about her.
I also saw her win the gold. it is like watching poetry in motion. strength and grace, amazing and wonderful to watch.
congrats to her and her family and for representing her country. I have read that these skaters often begin very early, preschool age out on the ice, ballet class. wow. nice work, Maita.
Maita my Ate, I watched this young 19 yr.old woman skating a couple of nights ago at the Olympics, and she definitely earned her Gold. God has provided her with not just skills, but also a heart to achieve to be the best that she can be.
Love,
your KUYA Dave.
This year's ladies competition showed us women of great courage, heart and determination. The women are so beautiful, and underneath are made of the strongest steel. I applaud your excellent overview and the visuals rock! Thanks!
She is a very talented young lady. She definitely deserved her Gold. =) Hi Maita!
Didn't get a chance to watch her or much of any Olympics this time. These athletes are so dedicated to it and she surely seems to shine. Great work on this one too Maita..

Hi Maita, I hope things are going well for your friend and her new little one. I hope things are going well for you, even with football season over. Have a great day tomorrow.
I really love figure skating and think the women who do this art form are the sexiest ever! And Yu-Na is no exception. She is simply gorgeous!
Thanks so much for doing this great tribute to her.
Love and peace
Tony
She was awesome wasn't she. I got chills watching her skate. Great Hub Maita!
An exceptional young woman - it takes immense dedication to reach this standard.
Lovely tribute hub - a pleasure to read.
Hi Maita! Kim is definitely a talented girl that seems to have a bright future in figure skating or whatever she chooses to do as a career. Her personality and the way she carriers herself will take her far. I got a feeling that we will see a lot more of her in the future. Thanks for doing such a great hub on Kim.:)
Maita, I love the Olympics and figure skating too. What a great year it was with so many gifted athletes. Kim is one of those skaters we will remember for years and years. The way she skates is like the definition of ladies' figure skating, such poise, grace, and athleticism all combined in a beautiful young woman. She seems like a nice girl too.
Watching her on tv was a reminder of how we humans can sometimes achieve incredible things and truly shine. Great and very timely hub, Maita! : )
Why do people always write her surname first like we're in Asia? That's only customary in Asia. If you're North American, type her name how people would in North America, just like how you would write "Mao Asada" instead of "Asada Mao"
Drop dead gorgeous and brilliant skating talent! Pure skill! Fantastic! Great hub! Video is astounding! She made it look so easy, and she is so darn fast too!
She is good skater however Mao is much better than her. Unfair judgement.
