I love reading poetry and ever since I appreciate poetry in the traditional sense -- love poetry -- about life, survival, agonizing, happy memories, sad thoughts, you name it, I came to appreciate poetry more. I can write my inner thoughts in one sitting and I enjoy reading it, smiling at myself and thinking about a world in which people decide and write whats in their heart. I was immersed in the works of Pablo Neruda and I became to dwell more about love poetry, sense of loss and memories of a love lost and a love yet to come. Love is favorite topic of all poets, and also my favorite topic when I am writing poetry as it touches my inner soul and I can travel beyond what is incomprehensible to a current state. I am into another world and I experienced "transcendence of the heart and mind". I wrote a hub about Pablo Neruda (July 12, 1904 – September 23, 1973) and his works never fail to amuse me. I dearly love his work and I am sharing them to you by poetry reading with videos. Actually a friend gave me a CD containing all the works of Pablo Neruda, but it was damaged while I am moving my place some years back.

Pablo Neruda is a Chilean poet, activist, politician and one who dreamt of changing the world. His works was translated into different languages. A fellow novelist Colombian Gabriel Gracia Marquez called him "the greatest poet of the 20th century in any language."
His works are composed of erotically charged poems, historical epics and mostly about love like his Twenty Poems of love and a Song of Despair.
His works will always be in the heart of his followers and those who appreciate his work. That's the blessing of poetry, it travels, it affects and move us beyond and everybody of us can be a poet. Without further ado, I am sharing with you the poetry readings of the works of Pablo Neruda. I hope you enjoy it.

great fantastic terrific fine quality hub work thanks much
Hello, Maita, I never heard of Pablo Neruda and thank you for introducing me to his work.
Many critics consider Neruda to be one of the most important and widely read poets of the 1900s. Many go as far as to place him alongside Shakespeare and Dante. Poetry Readings of the Works of Pablo Neruda with Videos will definitely prove to be a pioneering effort, as our postmodern age is better adapted to video and online poetry than the print editions. The video recording of Neruda's poetry is an extraordinary thing to occur in the arena of global poetry. Best Wishes

Thank you for posting this - he's a magnificent poet and I've treasured his writing for many years. He and Giocanda Belli occupy the same places in my heart.

Thanks Maita, while I enjoy poetry I can not write it myself. I have enjoyed the poems you have written.
I enjoyed watching the videos. His poems are lovely and full of emotions. I like the scene of Robin Williams. Great hub!
Very interesting. Wish I would have found this sooner. I've heard of Neruda but never encountered such a comprehensive grouping of his work. Thank you much.
I just discovered this hub. Neruda is one of my favorites. When I was in college I translated Poema XX which is one of the most romantic poems of all time. I'll try to find a copy of my translation and compare with the video. Thanks, PDH.
Just beautiful! Congratulations and thank you. I have tears and tingles listening to these poems.

Maita - this is just awesome. One of my favourite stanzas by the great man: "Hay que sentarse a la orilla / del pozo de la sombra / y pescar luz caida / con paciencia." I reall love Neruda and truly wish I could speak Spanish to have a proper understanding of his works. As it is I read the English translation and then the Spanish original so I can try to get a feeling for the sound of his poetry. But my very little Spanish is not really sufficient!
Thanks for these little gems of videos. I particularly liked "I don't love you." Who is the person reading in that one? I don't recognise him at all.
Thanks so much for sharing these wonderful poems with us.
Love and peace
Tony
