Stir Fry Brown Rice Preparation Technique : How to Make Stir Fried Rice
Stir Fry Brown Rice Preparation Technique
Rice is the staple food of more than fifty percent of the world population. I grew up eating brown rice specifically as it is more healthier. In the preparation of stir fry brown rice with veggies, it is best if you cooked it first with the rice cooker bearing in mind how many people are going to eat it. Stir fried brown rice which when mixed with veggies is a complete meal for breakfast, lunch and dinner. You can have stir fried brown rice and use seafoods, meat or chicken as ingredients. You just need to add fish, meat and fruits for your other nutrient requirement to stir fried brown rice and it will be a complete meal.
There are hundreds of variants of rice available all over the world and can be classified according to color -- white versus brown rice, stickiness, sizes and country specific variants. Rice can be flavorful too like Jasmine rice -- my favorite rice. Brown rice is the healthiest variant of rice. Plus you can buy them anywhere at supermarkets and Asian store here in the US.

Stir Fried Brown Rice Preparation
Brown rice can be prepared in easy steps to achieve the flavorful and aromatic brown rice experience. Cooking technique of brown rice covers from making it sure that the grain is clean by removing the bad grains, washing it and making ti sure that you follow the amount of water needed for cooking.
Rice cooker is the best way to cook rice as it is easily cook with the proper temperature and time. it is best to leave the brown rice and leave it on even after cooking the rice so that it remains hot and is ready for anybody who would like to eat.
For fried rice, you can make the brown rice cooler first before you stir fry it
- First like any grain, check if there are bad grains which are mixed with the brown rice, since it is brown, you need to check it carefully
- Then wash the rice properly, once only and very briefly so that the nutrients will not be lost
- Usually the preparation is one cup of brown rice with two cups of water
- Put the leaves of pandan or banana leaves to have some aroma to it, it smells good with rice. Pandan leaves give aroma to rice so that it smells good just cut it five inches long
- Set the rice cooker and while waiting for it to be cooked, set the other ingredients ready for you to fry the brown rice with a wok
- Always use a wok and the heat should be strong and keep on mixing the food you are cooking with a wok -- brown rice
- The other ingredients will depend on your preferred style of cooking, I use egg, shrimp, or meat -- the basic, cut carrots, green beans, chopped onions and garlic
- When the brown rice is ready (meaning it is cooked), cool it and wait for it to be cold, and then I use my hands for mushing the rice
- Heat the wok and put canola or olive oil
- Brown the garlic chopped and onion then set it aside on the wok, put the shrimp or the sliced meat as ingredients, brown it, then put the carrots green pepper
- Put some soy sauce to have the taste you desire
- Set it aside in one corner of the wok, and then get the egg and cooked it scrambled style when it is cooked put the brown rice and add little bit of salt.
The technique is to put many ingredients whether it is shrimp (I like this), meat - pork or poultry so that it is tastier and more aromatic because of the spices you will add according to your taste
Served it hot.

Hey PDH, very nicely done within 30 minutes. I would also like to thank you for participating in the challenge. I hope you enjoyed your time with it. :)
Not being a rice OR cooking fan, I can't comment much on content, but the hub is a very good start for 30 minutes. Well done.
Great recipe for me as I love brown rice and this recipe is a quickie. Thanks!
Forever His,
Terrific recipe. I make a stir fry brown recipe that is really so simple. I prepare the rice, add it to a frying pan, saute for a few minutes in peanut oil, add an egg, scramble it, mix it in, stir in some already prepared bacon, add scallions and soy sauce an viola! Delicious. I will try your recipe and I thank you.
So wierd - I was eating some left over chicken fried rice from a favorite local restaurant today for lunch and I was thinking to myself that I have to learn how to cook fried rice AND I wondered if I could make fried rice with brown rice...and then - voila! - I got an email saying that you just published this hub. You must have read my mind, and I thank you for this great information that is exactly what I needed! Now I just need to get me a wok...
Miata, We have stir fry brown rice fairly often as we love it. Your recipe sounds very good. Thanks.
I have 3 banana plants growing out side ready for this and lots of rice, also my peas are coming on. Mmmm, it won't be long Miss Maita. thanks now, Charlie x
Rice is a terrific tasty healthy food. I love brown rice as well as basmati rice. Rice goes with so many dishes, stir fries without rice is like toast without butter. Very tasty hub, made me hungry, think I will boil up a batch of rice now:-)
Sounds and looks yummy. http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=123660517659
My son, funnily, eats mostly rice. I have tried brown rice once wasn't impressed. I will take your advice and try it stir fry. Thank you for a well-written hub.
Thanks for highlighting one of my favorite dishes, I love brown rice and making stir fry with it is a fab idea. Peace :)
You put this together so nicely. The best investments I've made are both a rice cooker and a cast iron wok - I'm glad you listed these items. Then I love rice - and I have done some great stir fried rice - and brown rice done this way is excellent - it even looks better.
Such a great hub! I know what I'm eating for lunch and dinner.
Rated up and more!
Ate' Maita, brown rice is nice, but it seems to lack in flavour and doesn't seem to fry up to well later.
KUYA Dave.
This is yummy. I grew up with rice, mostly white rice but stir fry also. I love to try different variations with rice and most of them come out pretty good. I use a rice cooker but my parents never did and their rice always came out better than what I can hope for even with a cooker.. LOL
I love rice and dislike white rice, stripped of all its flavour and nutrients, though I find Basmati and it's related rices very tasty. I always prefer the whole grains to the refined white varieties in breads and other grain types. Thanks, Maita.
Hi PDH... great brown rice technique. It is always the better out of all the rices. Did you know that a white rice study in the USA has linked this to type 2 diabetes? This is because it is highly processed compared to the brown counterpart. I personally think that people who opt for the white rice shows an indication to the rest of the diet.
Good hub and great to see you! :)
You are the rice go to person !
Great Hub !
Thank you !
Ron
as always also a2z50
Great hub Maita! I need more rice in my life. I'll check your other "rice" hub too! I wish there was a Filipino restaurant near here!
A friend of mine recently told me that brown rice is good for those with diabetis and high cholesterol. It's good that I was able to read your article. I am thinking of trying it for my husband. This is an informative hub.
I love many kinds of rice but I am part-Asian so I stick with white rice as it goes with more Asian dishes. This is very detailed and your preparation techniques are well worth reading, I think. Cheeky is very good at eating rice with chopsticks. I am very impressed.
Good article, I love having brown rice with many of my meals.
Sounds delish - and it's healthy! Good job!
Might have to give this brown rice thing another go. I always found brown rice difficult to get done. I do my rice on the stovetop, but considering the healthy factors brown rice has over white, I'd like to get it right one day. :) A stir-fried brown rice sounds delish if I can ever get the rice tender enough for my tastes.

I love brown rice, too, Maita. Now if I'm served white rice I find it too bland.
It's harder to find bad grains in brown rice as you pointed out, but my rule of thumb is if the grain you examine is moving, throw it out. :)
