Visit and Travel to the Exotic and Beautiful Bangkok,Thailand. I had the opportunity to visit Thailand thrice, twice in Bangkok and once in Pattaya -- home of beautiful beaches. The first time I went in Thailand, I didn't have the time to roam and really visit it as I was tied to a commitment. I was attending an international conference as part of my job at the University and my travel was funded by the University and the International organization which invited me to present a research paper. I was with some colleagues who are also presenting research papers The second time I visited I had all the time to roam and see the exotic and beautiful Bangkok, my money was well worth the visit. Bangkok is a tourist haven, the food, places, sceneries and the attractions are beyond what I was expecting. It is like going to another world which you never see before like golden palaces, floating boat market, restaurants -- exotic foods, chili but good to the taste, smiles of the Thai people, safaris -- crocodiles show and I even saw some two elephants walking down the roads. Over all, Bangkok, Thailand is a place where you a mixture of old and new traditions.

I've been fascinated with "Siam" for years - which was what the country of Thailand was originally called. My friends here always want to go eat at Royal Thai. It's charming and has the ambience, though the "chili" they use here is the same a the Mexican cuisine uses - jalapeno and with a lot of ginger (which I adore) in their food - it can be a bit much. But the places you describe there - and the food! sound so delightful!!! A wonderful job of picturing it for us!
I have never been near Thailand, but you make it sound amazing. I would love to travel more than I have been able to--hopefully it isn't too late.
Thanks so much, Maita.
Mike

I have always admired the place, but you have given new vision to the already glorified place.thanks Mayta.

A beautiful city - a shame all the red shirt protests are going right now - it will be good when it is safe again.
Hey Ate' Maita! WOW! looks like your taking me to Bangkok now for a visit. Well at least it's in the same neighborhood because wasn't it just a few days ago, we visited the Philippines together. WOW! what a whirlwind tour your providing.
By the way Ate' Myrlin(aka.Lyn) my wife is from SanFernando, La Union in the Philippines, maybe we could visit up there too so I can know what it looks like, for when I retire there.
KUYA Dave.
I have never thought of going to Tahiland but would sure love to. Your hub is amazing, I always feel like I have been on a trip after visiting your travel hubs. Nice job, I love the picture of the floating market. How cools is this?
thanks for taking me to Thailand,
Sage
Maita - you are spot on with your description if Bangkok - I've been there on four separate visits and each time found something new and amazing to explore.
The people I've met are genuine and friendly and for sightseeing, few places can match its diversity. As well as shopping! Malls and flea markets and thieves' markets at every turn. A true shopper's paradise.
I've been to Bangkok more than a couple of times and absolutely love the people. They are incredibly friendly and yes, the shopping, Maita--lots of bargains and I love mingling with the local people. I love the boat rides and how about them tuk-tuks? Ohh, the place you will go on one of those tuk-tuks. Love this hub!
Mista, Thailand has always been at the top of my list of countries I would like to visit. My husband has been there and told me how beautiful it is. I loved your hub. You descriptions and pictures were wonderful. Rated up!
Beautiful place, beautiful people. I visited Bangkok and Chiang Mai many many years ago (I even rode on elephant!), but your hub brought back wonderful memories. Thumbs up!
Swadee khrap Maita, In Thai it means Hello.
MUANG THAI MUANG YIM - Meaning, Thailand Land Of Smiles
Thailand is all about eating, shopping & entertainment.
Wow, Wonderful hub I don't believe it you are faster than me. You know I love Thailand, hopefully I will go to Thailand at the end of June but because of political unrest I am just waiting. I was thinking to make a hub about Thailand but problem is making titles for all those pictures. It takes too much time to make the titles.
There is so much to do in Thailand for everyone (all age groups) There are many shopping malls & markets I love to go, when I am in Bangkok.
Chatuchak is also a very big weekend flea market, Chinatown & so many malls in every area. The area I stay when I am in Bangkok is Bangkapi which 20 minutes from downtown. In Bangkapi alone there are 6 or more big malls not to mention small shopping markets.
I don't know when but hopefully soon I will make a hub too.
Salamaat good night
Great, awesome as always a blessing to read and dream of these places. Thank you for opening another door into where travel is anticipated.
Blessings and Hugs
ahh Maita. . thailand has always been a place I have on my top ten places I want to go . and this Hub just confirms all the reasons why!
I really must make a point to get here at some point!!! Great information here!!
I love the architecture. Would be a great place to visit.
Oh that sounds so good.
Maita, I love your descriptions and pictures of such beautiful places that exist in God's wonderful world that I will probably never see except through hubs like yours. Thank you for this wonderful virtual travel gift.
Love and hugs,
Forever His,
Swadee khrap Maita,
When a pretty woman like you want to say hello to a man then she has to say Swadee kha. It is also different when saying hello to a younger person (Swadee cha).
I want to label all the pics so that people know what it is.
Yes I went to Patpong on my first trip to Bangkok with my friend who owns a Go Go bar - Nude dance bar, just to see the dance.
Situation is not good & I always go in that shopping area where all the protest are going on.
I call every weekend to get updates. Actually I will call today at 10Am to get the latest news.
Tom yam is not difficult, I know some delicious traditional recipes too but I don't like cooking.
Lifestyle in Bangkok is all based on Sanuk - Happiness, even poor people are happy in Thailand. This is what I say about Bangkok.

Lovely photo's. Thanks. :)
are the red shirt protesters still out and about?
Awesome travel hub, Maita!
A lot of work has gone into this hub Maita. I am proud to be working with you in the team:)
A complete travel hub for Thailand.Last year,I visited Bangkok, what I love about the city is the friendly people and foods.Of course, floating market was amazing and a new experience to me.Thanks Maita :)
Hey! Glad you had fun in my hometown. I miss Bangkok a lot. Some street food there is actually much better than pricey restaurant food here!
I have Thai friends here in the US. They are also so thoughtful. I've been to Bangkok once only. But that was a long time ago. This is a great travel guide.
Great Hub.....food looks great......great pictures......well done.....Irish
I went to Bangkok decades ago on my R&R from Vietnam. I loved Thailand. Thai food is my favorite of all! Thank you Maita!
This is a destination I would love to visit someday. The palace you featured is exquisite. Thank you for the fine article. I enjoyed it much.
Bangkok as a city has more to offer to a tourist than any other country in that region.
I want to visit the floating market. On my radar now - thanks to you! Excellent info and well organized.
So sad that the country is suffering from severe floods at the moment!

I loved everything about Bangkok - the people, the food, that giant sleeping Buddha and the 50 ton solid gold Buddha and the Temple of the Dawn and the markets. And I loved that it was 95 degrees everyday. What a great place to visit. I even thought about living there for awhile and maybe I still will. Thanks for a great hub about a great city!
