What not to sell and funny things to sell at eBay

What not to sell and funny things to sell at eBay. How many of you are buying and selling at E-bay? E-bay phenomenon of selling and buying is widely accepted now. Whereas before it was just a venue for selling of unique and antique memorabilia, now you can almost buy and sell anything at eBay.

Who would think that the empire created by the Chairman Pierre M. Omidyar a French born Iranian-American entrepreneur in 1995 will succeed as it is now? And who would think that online buying and selling will click?

Ebay is also accepting affiliate online marketers to expand their sales.

I have listed some of the funniest E-bay sale I read and heard of:

1. My virginity, anyone?

Have you heard of the woman college student woman from California who was trying to sell her virginity to the highest bidder? Unluckily for her, eBay didn’t allow her to do it. The justification of the woman was that she needed the money to pay her college tuition fees, so instead of being devirginized in another form without any compensation she chose to try to sell her virginity to the highest bidder. Of course many people most specially the press reacted to this one because many are debating whether this is correct or not, at least morally.

Is virginity a commodity at all? What was the reaction of her parents, even though they wouldn't approve of it, the woman is already twenty one at that time at that time. Is it morally wrong to do this? Well, there’s no law against it so it was up really to the eBay management whether to approve it or not, but they didn’t approve it.

Who knows next time you can sell your spouse to E-bay?

2. How about someone in the news before who was trying to sell his kidneys? Whew scary but it is true. I think it isnot allowed to do this and it is against the law. I know for a fact that people in other countries do this.

3. An Australian man offered to to sell his identity to anybody including all his possessions plus he promised to teach the buyer how to become ME he said.

4. How about the fingernails of serial killer Norris?

5. I dont know if somebody bought the hair of Elvis Presley already either.

Now let us go to the stuff which you cant sell on eBay? You can sell anything but not everything they say, so, here are some of the list which you cannot sell at E-bay:

  •  They don’t allow sale of animals, how much more endangered species.
  • They are very strict on imitations and copyright, you cant sell anything which don’t have copyright on them like CDs etc. Until you can prove the copyright, then you are allowed to sell items. This covers things which can be downloaded or e-books. If you show the proof that you are the sole owner or you have the copyright, then you can sell them otherwise they are very strict on this.
  • You cannot also sell tickets which you are not authorize to sell, like concerts or games etc. This is tantamount to scalping, if you are not the authorize seller.
  • They don’t allow anybody to sell some memorabilia of famous stars if you don’t have proof of ownership. I think signatures and faces of famous people are allowed to be sold but you need to show a proof that the person whose signature has approved of the sale.
  •  And lastly, they don’t sell, guns, bombs or deadly weapons, this is obvious, some terrorists might take advantage of it and then might use it to kill people. Licensing and legality issues are some problems to contend with.

There you go, those are the funny things that people tried to sell at eBay. I hope this hub helps you with regards to the list on the things that are not sold at eBay.
